About the Online Notepad
The Online Notepad is a clean writing surface with automatic saving: every keystroke is stored locally in your browser after a short pause, survives closing the tab, and is restored the next time you open this page on the same device. Live character, word and line counts run while you type, the font size is adjustable, and one click downloads everything as a .txt file or copies it to the clipboard.
Nothing you write is ever uploaded — the note lives exclusively in your browser's local storage, which also means it stays on this device and browser. In your browser's localStorage on this device — it never touches a server. Clearing site data or using private/incognito mode removes it; other devices and browsers cannot see it.
Browsers grant roughly 5 MB of localStorage per site — several million characters, far more than any normal note. If saving ever fails, the status indicator next to the title will say so.
No — Clear asks for confirmation and then deletes the note from storage immediately. Download a .txt copy first if you might need it again.
Yes, by design: the text exists only in your browser. Keep in mind that anyone with access to this browser profile on this device could open the page and see the saved note.
